Dennis was released!!

The end of March Dennis was released from his calling as Bishop of the BYU 228th ward ... in the BYU 21 Stake. It was a bitter sweet day, for sure. He had the calling for 3 years and we have been attending church there all of this time. While there we had the privilege of meeting MANY amazing youth ... and we cherish those memories. After being released we had a special dinner at the Brick Oven with his counselors and clerk and their wives (Randy and Stephanie Killpack, Brad and Pam Kidd, and Grady and Terri Burt) ... sorry, no picture of them. ...but, the next week we had some of our youth over for dinner, and here are their pictures.

This picture is of: Mary Whitset, Damien Bennett (Dennis' executive secretary), Joanie Leishman (former Relief Society President) and Alec Westwood (Dennis' asst. exec. sec.). We love these 'guys' ... and will miss them AND many others, very much. A great experience!
WE LOVE YOU!

Just a few days later ... nice weather!!

Amy came out for a quick lunch with the boys. Here is Spencer (sitting in our high chair with the cover Amy created so he won't slip down ... very cute!!). We actually had to put sun block on him ... quite a contrast to just a few days before!!

On Sat. April 17th we had a family gathering at David and Jen's in Cedar Hills. See ... nice weather again!! (The kids all ate their burgers out on the lawn and we sat on the patio) ... yummy food and a fun evening!! Above are Dallin, Peyton and Kelly.

Here's Carter and Jacob ... eating on the trampoline ... a great place for kids to enjoy their meal. Thanks guys for a fun evening. Wendy came and so did Amy (Dave stayed home with the boys who were sick) ... as well as Dennis and I and David and Jen's 10!! It was fun.

Spring ... in UTAH!!!

We woke up several mornings in April to THIS! Somehow flowers and snow do not mix! The weather "men" keep saying ... it is UTAH ... wait a few minutes and the weather will change. This year it that has definitely been the case. We had very little snow in the winter, but spring has been very wet. Gotta love it!!

The above picture was taken first thing in the morning ... and this was a few hours later. Spring storms usually mean they don't stick around very long. The daffodils will poke their heads up again ... as the snow melts and the sun comes out. (Trust me, they are used to this, and so are we!!)

Happy Easter!!

Yes, we did wake up to 6" of snow ... but these are some of my pretty daffodils ... the same ones that are covered with snow this morning. They are a beautiful sign of spring in Utah ... and this too will pass. Happy Easter!! (The little bunny is the one Jodi made at bread week ... yes, it is made of honey whole wheat bread!! So cute!!)

This is SPRING in Utah!!

Here are McKay and Talmage ... playing with the bubble gun on the patio. Notice ... short sleeves and Talmage is barefoot!! That was taken on Tues. 3/30 ... and below is Sunday, 4/4!!

It is said of Utah weather ... if you don't like it now, just wait a few minutes, and it will change!! This week we actually had 2 other snowstorms ... that melted quickly. This is the biggest we have seen. We woke up Easter morning to 6" of the pretty white stuff. Luckily it will melt quickly, and the sun is now shining!!

Here is the view from the deck ... it sticks to everything. The sun is shining and it has actually been snowing quarter-sized flakes. So pretty. We are glad we can stay home and enjoy General Conference Sunday ... Happy Easter!!

Here are my pretty daffodils ... somehow, every year, they manage to get snowed on ... but they will survive ... and they will stand tall and let us know that spring will come. We do LOVE Spring in Utah!! ***** As an added note ... the snow was all gone by 6 p.m. Sunday ... amazing that it could melt so quickly!! Love it!!! *****
