The Rudd's came to visit!

When Tim and Becky Rudd and family came to visit we took them out to the property for quad rides. Ron and Judy Rosevear came as well and brought their quads so there were '4' for them to ride. Here is Dennis with Savannah - Tim and Becky are in the back and Ron is talking to them. It was a fun day.

Here's a picture of the whole group - except for Thomas, who was taking the picture. We had a great day and the weather was practically perfect!! Pictured are: Judy and Ron, Emily, Tim, Becky and Savannah, Allen and Anita and Ruth Ann and Dennis.

A Menifee Stake Reunion ...

We had a Menifee Stake reunion ... for all the Southern California Transplants ... who have moved to this area. We have been saying we would do it for years now, so we finally did it!! Dennis and I planned it and it was up Hobble Creek Canyon at a covered pavilion (in case it rained!!). This is a picture from the beginning ... we ended up with over 60 people there. It was fun getting caught up on what people are doing. (Most of the attendee's were from Wildomar and Canyon Lake wards ... Rosevear's were from Ortega and Rudd's from Menifee!!)

July 24th - with the Hanks' family

Seth had a 'ball' playing around the fire pit ... and, as can be seen, got a LITTLE bit dirty!! He does LOVE the out of doors, and enjoyed getting to go camping at Grandpa's property!

Here he is helping grandpa get the fire ready. He has on his tool belt that we gave him for his birthday. What a creative little boy he is ... we loved having you come out and camp with us.

Breakfast - outside, at the Property! Dennis and I slept in the bunk house and had Dave, Amy and boys in the trailer, they loved it!! We had nice weather ... and just hung out. Seth even went on a little ATV ride with his Dad. Thanks for coming guys!!

The Schauers' visit Utah!

Eric and Donna and their children: Megan, Brandon, Jason and Madison came to visit and we had a great time!!

No trip would be complete without a visit to the property and some 'quad rides'!!! We had a 'cool' day, and it ended up being just about perfect. We loved it and so did the kids. Jason was the pro on getting the fire started, and Talmage loved helping him. We roasted hot dogs and had yummy s'mores!!

Here's Jason and Eric getting ready for a ride. The kids thought 4-wheelin was pretty fun, which we agree, it is!!

This was also the time for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House. Their family got tickets, and here they are in front of the beautiful temple. Dennis and I had gone a couple of weeks earlier. It is certainly a beautiful temple and a great addition to the Salt Lake Valley. (You can stand there in front of it and see the Draper and the South Jordan temples ... and look downtown where the Salt Lake temple is ... but it's hidden by other tall buildings now). Pretty neat!!

Here's Madison and Talmage ... waiting their turn to ride 4-wheelers out at the property (sorry, it is out of order).

I'm Coming Back ... to BLOGGING!!

I realize I have been quite a slacker when it comes to blogging ... but there were reasons ... the main one being my computer wouldn't accept the pictures from my camera ... ~ thanks Dave for correcting my issues! (Also, there have been numerous events and things happen ... but for now, I will begin by saying - I have a lot of catching up to do!) Tonight I have posted several events that took place awhile ago ... if you are interested, take a stroll through the past ... it is still a work in progress, but I intend to get it caught up soon. Keep checking back ... I will keep working on it.

The Leishman Boys!!

Everyone LOVES McKay ... but he is definitely a "picky" eater ... UNLESS ... you happen to have one of his favorite meals!!
When they were staying with us we had Hawaiian Haystacks ... and this is the plate of food he made for himself (he actually had already started eating before I snapped the picture). Are his eyes bigger than his stomach?

The picture below tells it all ... AND, notice the smile on his face!! Tanner ate even more, but I couldn't get a picture before he had eaten most of it. Growing boys!! (They had been swimming at Seven Peaks most of the afternoon ... they were hungry!!)

Below is a picture of the three of them sleeping in the family room. I couldn't resist capturing how Talmage travels in his sleep.

Idaho trip - July 5th - July 8th, 2009

We took our 4-wheelers to our friend's, Ted and Linnae Wilcox's cabin near Idaho City, ID. While there we went on '3' different rides that they planned for us. The first ride was a total of 86 miles ... and we saw some absolutely beautiful country. Most of our trails took us along the Boise River which made it even more spectacular!!

Here is a picture of a baby eagle in its nest ... we also saw some deer and a mother moose and her calf (but they were too quick for us to photograph) and many chipmunks, squirrels and an amazing amount of butterflies!!! We loved being out in nature!

Here is one of the views of the North Fork of the Boise River. We also rode along the Middle Fork. We ate lunch along the way ... and stopped many times for photos and snacks. It was a lot of fun and the weather was amazing ... not too hot !!!

On day #2 we rode about 60 miles ... and on the way back we got to go through a creek. Dennis always gets to go through water first ... and then we follow. We learned that 'still waters run deep' ~ which means if the water has no ripples, it is probably deeper. Look for the ripples, and it is a shallower crossing. Here's Ruthie crossing ... notice ... her feet are Up so they don't get wet! Day #3 was about 30 miles.

Here's all 4 of us ... Linnae and Ted above and Ruth Ann and Dennis below. It was a fun trip and we are thankful for our friendship with the Wilcoxes and their great adventure!!

Happy 4-wheeling!!

Freedom Festival 2009

Ryan and Jodi have been planning to run the 10k at the Freedom Festival for a year now, and they did it!! Ryan and Alisa had moved to Washington a few weeks prior, but they came back for the event ... and Jodi is in the middle of their move to Las Vegas (packing day and night - so she didn't train like she had hoped) , but they both did great!!!

Here's Ryan coming in (white shorts and blue shirt). He had a good time and he was excited that he beat Steve Young!! Good job Ry!

Here's Jodi ... her running story is amazing ... she set the goal and accomplished it. Way to go Jo ... we are so proud of you!!

After the run we went to the parade (thanks to Alisa's family for holding places all night). It was so fun. Alisa didn't run this year - they are expecting a baby and decided to play it safe ... (a wise choice) ... we are so excited for the two of you!!
