Amy decided after the Japan Earthquake that she wanted to do something to help someone in need ... and found that Primary Children's Hospital asks for Easter Baskets to be donated this time of the year ... so she sent an email and posted it on Facebook to find out if anyone wanted to help with this project. She got lots of responses. (The nurses said they want to deliver a basket to each bed on the Sat. night before Easter ... and that infant and teenage baskets are the hardest to get.)
The plan was for Amy to gather the baskets and to bring them to our house so that when my sisters were here we could wrap them and put bows on them. It was soon evident that we were going to have more baskets than we expected ... more than 100 possibly, so I started wrapping what we had so it wouldn't be such an overwhelming task. Here are 69 of them ready to go!
Here is a sample of the 'teenage' baskets we put together. They have: lotion, a pair of socks, lip gloss, candy, some small games, a small notebook and a 'fluffy' pen plus a stuffed animal and a nice chunck of Chocolate. They turned out very cute.
Here's the final push ... Amy is sitting in the midst of the ones she brought down and putting them together. We ended up with a grand total of 133 baskets! We have been so thrilled with the response of so many family and friends who generously gave to this project. It is heartwarming to know that there are so many 'giving' people around. Thanks to all who helped!

Who knew it would turn into such a huge thing! SO amazing what one person can do. There are definitely going to be some happy kids on Easter. :)
